Alberta Court
Readiness Centre
Court is easier to face when you know what is coming. The Centre helps Albertans understand court processes, organize their materials, and prepare with confidence for each step.

What the Centre is
A practical support service, not a law office. We translate court procedure into plain language, sit down with your paperwork, and make sure nothing is missing before your date. Every session ends with a clear, written next step.
Who it is for
- Self-represented individuals navigating court without a lawyer
- People with an upcoming family, civil or provincial court date
- Newcomers unfamiliar with Alberta's court processes
- Anyone supporting a family member through a legal matter
How it works
Four steps to walking in ready
- 01
Start with a conversation
Tell us where you are in your matter. We listen first, then map out what actually needs to happen next.
- 02
Organize your materials
Work through plain-language checklists so forms, evidence and timelines are complete before your date.
- 03
Understand the process
Learn what happens in the room, who is present, what you will be asked, and how decisions are made.
- 04
Prepare for the day
Practice what you will say, plan logistics, and leave with a written summary you can bring with you.
